Cluster and floral designs were extremely popular during the 1980s, often designed to give the impression of a larger overall gemstone mass.

  • Yellow gold + heavy ornamentation = classic 1980s style.

The split shank and asymmetrical flourish also became more popular in the late ’80s into the early ’90s, particularly in cocktail and statement rings
